Point Reyes

These guys are listening to one of Mell's stories!

Here we had fresh oysters for lunch...and watched the seals jump
in the last boat in the picture...

Stinson Beach

We then took off for our adventure through the hills California over the Golden Gate Bridge... We went down some really curvy
roads where we stopped to check out the views! Below here is Stinson Beach.

Graham's Old Apartment

After the coffee

The Flight Home

We caught the flight on time...and as entering the plane I overheard a lady telling someone she was from Cordiel GA...?? I asked if she knew Mell's cousin Wayne and his wife Fran....she said "I know Fran from the school" Small world ?

Needless to say we were all exhausted! I fell asleep before the plane took off! and after I awoke I got Mell to take this photo of Matt and Beth taking a little snooze themselves....they were always laughing at me for falling asleep in the car...Great photo!

The End of mmtakeflight in Italy....
stay tuned for our next adventure coming your way in the near future!

Late Lunch in Milano

We arrived late afternoon with hunger pains...
We drove around and around the little town where our hotel was in the rain looking for something to eat!
The only place we could find open was McDonalds...so we had to check out the Italian menu!
The hamburgers and frys are all the same...but the dessert menu and salad menu...were quite different...with any salad in Italy
you get no choice for salad dressing...it just comes with Oil and balsamic vinegar! Easy choosing!

The dessert menu had all kinds of fancy desserts! And check out the chairs? Fancy place huh?

Bus To Milan

After our trip to the Villas...we met
Grazia's friend Silvia and had dinner at a local restaurant ....I had many childhood memories that night as she
had me to try Trippi...which I figured out later was tripe!

We left the restaurant...went to the train station....trying to figure out which train we had to take to Milano...so we could get our tickets ahead of time to avoid any lines...
Of course the ticket office was closed...but Grazia and Sylvia found some guy who works in the station...and with lots of looking and talking ...the man finally said "Taka the busa"!

The next morning Grazia picked us up at 7am and off to the bus station we go...we got our tickets and only had to transfer once in Prato...then we had to find a bus to the airport...where we were to meet Matt and Beth...around hunger time...4pm as we had no lunch!

The Villas

When we returned it was getting dark...but Grazia wanted to show us
the Nice Villas in the mountains...a really upper class part of town!

I didn't get many pictures as it was dark...but I have many memories!

This 2nd picture is a wine cellar! and this Villa you may can see if you click the picture...between the gate...it was lit up so we could see it! We drove all over the hills with the views of the city lights below...it was sooo much fun...thanks to Grazia who made the trip exciting to say the least!

More of Bargo

You can see how close the streets of Italy are and you realize why they need the small cars!
It was a real experience traveling these small mountain roads in a bus!

They had an outside fruit market which we enjoyed while waiting for the bus to pick us up...we also enjoyed watching the main intersection of the town...I'm not sure we figured out who had the right of way...after watching for some time...and check out their signs...It was too much for me...I didn't know which to read first!

Bargo Duomo

Once in Bargo we headed up the mountain
roads to the Duomo...cathedral...
The views were awesome! and the Duomo
was OLD! We figured out the original Duomo dated back from the early 11th Century or somewhere about there...it was partially destroyed in a earthquake and rebuilt several times up till the 19th century...the inside I think was saved...so it is full of all the old stuff!

All the mountainsides are terraced! I mean all of them...I never saw any land that was not terraced...look closely at the scenery and you will see the way they terraced the land for the crops!
