We spent day 16 in the sunny town of Dawson City, 75 or 80 degrees, (one of the first hot days we have had since before Idaho) ...where we rode the bikes and looked at the sites.
Day 17,I would say we got up at the crack of dawn but it stayed light all night long there! We awoke early and flew to the customs site, Eagle AK, where the custom officer met us in a SUV...checked our passports and away we flew...We were right on the Yukon River. The officer had to go to meet some canoers who where coming into Alaska via Yukon River !
We met a Helicopter pilot there...who does a lot of bushwacking and told us of a tale with a carabou...the carabou chased him and then he hid from the carabou...then he chased the carabou, probably the first human the carabou ever saw!
He also said there was still gold in them there hills!
Love ya
