We haven't had Internet the past few days...a lot has happened! We left Denali and flew around Mt McKinley...its 20, 000 something feet high...one of the tallest in the world and the tallest in North America! It was completely covered in snow and beautiful!
From there we flew into Palmer AK a great little town...lots of glaciers...When we fly over things and I have time to think about them...it makes me wonder what it would be like to walk on them...like the tundra...I saw hundreds of miles of tundra...I finally got to walk on the tundra in Denali...so I saw so many glaciers...I wanted to walk on one! First we landed in between two glaciers on the dirt and hiked up to a glacier lake. A local man, Tom, told us of this place and that there was a canoe on the lake hidden in the bush. So we decided to go for it! Off we went again into the glacier lake, it was really strange with all the Ice floating around. This is the place where we would later find out that we lost our coats...I stayed behind while Mell flew away and left me to wander in the wilderness...not really...he wanted me to film him taking off and landing on the dirt ...Well he left the window open on the plane and out flew both of our coats...we found out today when I found a remnant of one of them on the tail wheel! Next we found Wendy, a lady who leads a hike on the Matanuska Glacier and off we went ! She was very knowledgeable about glaciers and we learned a lot! We put on our crampons and hiked onto and into this glacier...Oh wow! You could never imagine...Pictures of all to come!
We are now in Seward AK...We will go Whale watching tommorrow!
